Dr Peter Blake
Senior Dentist/Director
Dr Peter Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University in 2013. Peter, born and raised in Mareeba, aspired to a career in dentistry after watching his dad practice for the last 46 years. Peter loves all aspects of general dentistry and enjoys building rapport with his patients. Peter has a special interest in endodontics and prosthodontics. Restorative dentistry is an area in which he gets great satisfaction, being able to follow up his work with regular check-ups and cleans. Peter stays current with his professional development requirements, completing courses in restoring implants, Invisalign and CEREC. Peter’s hobbies include cycling, golf, tennis and volunteering at the Mareeba Golf Club when he isn’t spending time with his family.
Dr Samuel NASTASI
Senior Dentist/Director
Dr Samuel Nastasi graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University in 2015. Samuel was born and raised in Mareeba and was excited to move home after graduation, purchasing half of the practice. Samuel is passionate and proficient in all areas of dentistry, with a special interest in orthodontics and restorative dentistry. Samuel prides himself on providing patients with honest and realistic treatment options and is very accommodating to all patient’s needs. Samuel understands the importance of professional development and participates in continuing education courses to ensure he stays as up-to-date as possible with the changing techniques and technologies associated with dentistry.
Dr Rani Blake

Dr Rani Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University in 2015. Rani practices dentistry part-time at My Mareeba Dentist. She is committed to improving the oral health of all her patients, with a particular interest in restorative and paediatric dentistry. Rani strives to meet/address her patient’s main concerns through effective communication whilst offering treatment plans to suit each patient. Committing herself to ongoing professional development with training in nitrous oxide, Invisalign and CEREC. Outside work, Rani enjoys camping with her children, Pilates and HIIT training.
Alana Bensted
Hygienist
Alana has been in the dental industry for a total of 18 years. She started working in Cairns as a dental assistant. She went on to study and graduate as a dental hygienist in 2011. She moved to Mareeba 5 years ago to be closer to her partner, so she started working at My Mareeba Dentist.
Alana takes her job very seriously and is a firm believer that prevention is the best medicine. She aims to teach her patients specific preventative methods to help reduce their risk of both dental decay and periodontal disease, which in turn leads to good overall health.
Over the years, Alana has witnessed many patients dealing with dental anxiety, and she empathises with how hard it can sometimes be just to make an appointment and walk through that door.
She has therefore made it her goal to ensure that all her appointments are completed in a calm, relaxing environment and always aims to be as pain-free as possible while still providing a thorough clean for her patients.
Alana is just as passionate about dental now as she was back when she first started, and she always continues to educate herself on the latest dental technology and courses.
